New seafood cafe lands at the Blythswood

Fresh new Scottish seafood will be the focus when a new bar and cafe opens its doorways at Glasgow lodge Kimpton Blythswood Sq..

Iasg – which will take its title from the Gaelic term for fish – will officially open up on Monday, 15th November. In addition to serving regionally-sourced seafood the venue will host stay DJs at the weekends, with the opening weekend showcasing sets by Ashley Beedle and LaFontaines frontman Kerr Okan.

Kimpton Blythswood Sq. basic manager, Mafalda Albuquerque, claimed the cafe will undertake a “progressive sustainability policy” for sourcing its seafood.

“We’ll be serving only hand-dived or creel-caught shellfish, sourced in waters where by there is a healthy provide, and promising to do the job with their suppliers to assure traceability,” mentioned Albuquerque.

“Iasg restaurant will also be donating £1 from each individual invoice to The Firth of Forth Lobster Hatchery, a conservation and instructional charity and the only operating hatchery in Scotland, doing work to repopulate lobster shares at North Berwick harbour.”
